We’re here: the exciting summer announcements are making a comeback, including the return of outdoor cinemas in Paris. In the courtyard of the Louvre, Cinema Paradiso is back for its sixth edition from July 1st to 4th, 2026, organized by the museum and mk2. This event is accessible for free through an online lottery. Drawings will take place in June.
An edition featuring Joachim Trier: Take a seat in the deck chairs and enjoy the greatest films projected on a big screen at the Louvre. For this edition, acclaimed director Joachim Trier will be honored. Trier, who won the Oscar for Best International Film for “Reprise,” will feature his successful film “Julie (in 12 chapters)” in the Cinema Paradiso program, with the director present.
Between cinema and gastronomy: What about the other films being projected? For now, it’s a mystery. The complete programming will be revealed at the lottery openings. Each screening will be introduced by journalist Lily Bloom. Various food trucks will be available on-site to combine film and gourmet food. After the Louvre, Cinema Paradiso will head to La Seine Musicale from July 21st to 24th, 2026, as a cinema club blending cinema, DJ sets, and concerts. Needless to say, we can’t wait to enjoy these outdoor cinemas!
