The FC Metz women’s team lost 2-0 away to Saint-Malo and now firmly hold onto their place in the relegation zone.
With each match in the Second League championship, the women’s team from FC Metz edges closer to relegation to the third division. Despite a frustrating draw last week against Grenoble, the players of FC Metz clashed with US Saint-Malo. Despite a strong performance in the first half, including two shots hitting the post, Marine Morel’s team conceded two goals (Charpentier 06′ and Eninger 69′) and returned empty-handed from their trip to Brittany.
The returns from injury of Seynabou Mbengue and Anaïs Ribeyra, whose late goal was disallowed for offside, unfortunately did not have the desired effect. The team is still in second-to-last place in the standings, with Reims and Rodez widening the gap with their respective draws. The situation is critical for the women’s team, with only five matches left to avoid relegation.
The next match for the team will be on Sunday, April 5th at the Frescaty training center for the reception of Le Mans.
