On Saturday, March 28, 2026, Aurore Auteuil celebrated her 45th birthday. Another year spent on film sets like her parents, Daniel Auteuil and Anne Jousset. In an interview with Gala magazine, the actress talked about her relationship with the acting profession that she shares with them.
The example of a father
In October 2025, Aurore Auteuil explained how much her parents had influenced her career choices. “I truly am a child of the trade. I wanted to do this job by seeing my parents work,” she told Gala magazine.
While the actress admires the talents of both her parents, she was particularly inspired by her father’s projects. “Watching him live for his job, I learned a lot. Seeing him work tirelessly and with such rigor, the passion for the stage developed in me,” she added.
Films like “Les Sous-doués,” “Romuald and Juliette,” “La Fille du Puisatier,” and “36 Quai des Orfèvres” provided ample opportunities for the young actress to admire her father’s work, considering his numerous projects since the 1970s. She described it as an “exceptional career.”
Facing the “legacy”
During her youth, Aurore Auteuil spent time backstage on film sets or at events where her parents were involved. “I was always in the dressing rooms or in the audience. I remember sublime memories when my father was on tour,” she recalled.
As she gradually made her mark in the industry, the actress couldn’t escape the “legacy” label placed on her. “My main concern was being afraid of causing disturbance. And then having a father like that, it inevitably provokes jealousy and envy,” she noted.
Describing herself as “hypersensitive,” Aurore Auteuil also remembered “the legacy” of some people and the sadness it brought. However, this did not stop her from making a name for herself in the world of cinema from the early 2000s onwards. She notably stood out in films like “36 Quai des Orfèvres” (2004) with her father, as well as “Comme t’y es belle” (2006). In 2025, she also returned to the stage for the second time for “Les Monologues du vagin.”
