Krafton, Inc. has announced the launch of the “Pro Hunt” mode in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, a special event for April 1st. This mode adds a playful touch to the usual combat experience. It will be available for a limited time on multiple maps in the game.
Pro Hunt: Explosive Hide and Seek
In this temporary Arcade mode, players are divided into two roles: the “Props” and the “Hunters”. Props disguise themselves as objects scattered around the map and must remain hidden from the Hunters. The Hunters must track down and eliminate all Props before the time runs out. This mode combines stealth, strategy, and cunning, offering a unique experience beyond the traditional combat gameplay of Battle Royale.
Each session consists of three rounds, with a total of 12 players divided into 3 Hunters and 9 Props. At the beginning of each round, players choose their preferred role. The game automatically balances the teams if necessary.
During the preparation phase, the Hunters wait in a restricted area while the Props choose their disguises and find hiding spots. Hunters must search for and eliminate suspicious objects throughout the round. Shooting non-player elements of the environment reduces their health points, adding a risk element to each decision. A brief “Fever Time” towards the end of each round gives Hunters additional firepower and removes penalties for missed shots.
Players disguised as objects can use a range of skills to survive, including deploying decoys, changing disguises, and using stunning and blinding effects to disrupt the Hunters. These mechanics encourage dynamic and strategic gameplay throughout each match.
Ahead of the mode’s release, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS also launched a teasing campaign that reimagines Prop Hunt as a treasure hunt mission. The mode is highlighted in a creative and unexpected format. Players can get a sneak peek at the gameplay mechanics and possibilities offered by this temporary mode.
Availability and Maps
Prop Hunt is available in the Arcade mode on several maps, including Rondo, Vikendi, and Miramar. It will be playable for a limited time, from March 31st to April 8th. Players can enjoy this original game mode for a week.
