The mega-fight between Tyson Fury (37) and Anthony Joshua (36) is finally happening! Saudi Arabian promoter Turki Alalshikh announced the news on the platform “X.” He wrote to his British friends, “It’s happening. It’s signed. Netflix will broadcast it.”
This fight of the century has been in the making for a decade, with negotiations between the camps repeatedly failing. In December 2025, negotiations broke down again after Joshua was involved in a serious car accident in Nigeria, resulting in the death of two close friends. International and German media reported that Joshua would never return to the ring, but Joshua never confirmed this.
Warm-up fight for Joshua
Joshua is now preparing for the “Battle of Britain” against Fury, scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter of this year, possibly in October, November, or December. Before that, Joshua will make his comeback in Riyadh on July 25, facing Albanian Kristian Prenga, who has 20 wins in 21 professional fights.
Joshua said, “It’s no secret that I took some time to regroup and rebuild to be ready to return to the ring – and today is the next step on this journey.”
After a victory against Prenga, the much-anticipated mega-fight should follow. Fury, who recently made a comeback after a 16-month hiatus, challenged Joshua following his win against Arslanbek Makhmudov and engaged in a verbal exchange with him.
Joshua responded by expressing his willingness to face Fury in the ring, asserting his dominance. The two fighters exchanged challenges and words ahead of what promises to be a blockbuster showdown.
Now, it seems that the ink is finally dry on the fight contract.
