The competitive event Ascension announces its grand return on PUBG: Battlegrounds. This FPP duo tournament will take place over several stages in the spring, culminating in a grand finale organized at TwitchCon Rotterdam on May 30. A total of €110,000 in prize money is at stake for this edition.
Ascension aims to establish itself as a major event on the European competitive PUBG scene this year. Designed as an open competition for all, this edition will bring together thirty duos after four separate qualifying stages. Interested players can already register via the dedicated tournament website.
The qualification process consists of two online sessions and two offline events. The first two open qualifiers will allow 28 teams to secure their direct ticket to the grand finale. The first online qualification tournament will be held on April 3 and 4, followed by the second on April 11 and 12. To complete the lineup, two additional spots will be awarded through wildcard tournaments held locally. The first wildcard phase will take place in Montpellier on May 2, while the second will happen in the morning of May 30 in Rotterdam, a few hours before the climax. This rigorous process will determine the thirty duos who will compete on stage on the afternoon of May 30 during TwitchCon Rotterdam.
One of the distinctive features of the Ascension tournament is its crowdfunding model, which remains at the heart of the event’s identity. For this edition, the total cash prize amounts to €110,000, a sum supported and driven by the community. This overall fund will be distributed across different phases of the competition. Each online qualification tournament will have a prize pool of €5,000, with the duo finishing first in each stage earning €2,000. The grand finale will naturally have the majority of the winnings, with €100,000 up for grabs, half of which, €50,000, will be reserved for the team that wins the tournament.
To ensure its visibility, the competition relies on a dual broadcasting setup. The French cast is led by ZeratoR, a prominent figure in streaming and familiar with major competitive events. In parallel, an English stream is deployed to cover the tournament on a global scale. The entire circuit is organized and produced by the specialized agency ZQSD Productions.
