Over twenty-five years ago, France discovered Alizée in the show “Graines de star” on M6. Her face immediately captivated Mylène Farmer, who decided to turn the young Corsican into a true popstar. The French music icon kickstarted her career by writing her first two albums, including the legendary “Moi… Lolita,” a title that made her a national phenomenon. On July 4th, the former “Dance with the Stars” contestant celebrated the 25th anniversary of this iconic song. The bond between the two artists remains very strong. Alizée revealed to “Le Parisien” during her two concerts at the Olympia on September 8th that she remains very close to Mylène Farmer’s ex, Laurent Boutonnat.

Despite the distance, they communicate at least once a week. “We see each other little because she has a busy schedule, but when she comes to Corsica, we meet for anything and everything,” she explains. Alizée shares that they exchange animal photos, jokes, and everyday moments. Their relationship is deep, almost fraternal, and has not weakened over the years.

During an “Ask Mode” interview with the magazine “Biba,” Alizée, who promoted the 30th anniversary of the clothing brand LuluCastagnette and its special 2000 collection, spoke with her daughter Annily about her biggest fashion regret in her artist career. The former wife of Jérémy Chatelain admitted that brands with large logos quickly go out of style, despite having worn them multiple times, much to Mylène Farmer’s dismay, who always insisted on avoiding them.

She recalled that Mylène Farmer had warned her, as they worked together. Every time she wore a piece with a large brand logo, Mylène Farmer would say, “Oh no, that’s horrible, remove it,” and Alizée admitted she was right. Even today, Grégoire Lyonnet’s wife remembers this valuable advice from the singer.

Alizée was candid about her friendship with Mylène Farmer when questioned about the potential influence on her return to music. Alizée assures that her friend never forces her to do anything she doesn’t want to do. She expressed to “Le Parisien,” “She will never push me to do something I don’t want to do. If she sees that I want to, she will be there.” This mutual trust was highlighted in 2023 on TF1’s “50′ Inside” where the singer mentioned that she could rely on Mylène Farmer for any life topic.

Their solid friendship is simply summed up as, “I’m lucky she’s part of my life.” After over two decades, their bond goes beyond music, like an unbroken invisible thread. What started as a mentorship has evolved into a heartfelt connection.
