Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, emphasized the crucial importance the state places on the Arab region, which is considered a strategic pillar and foundation of Egyptian national security.

Abdelatty made these remarks during a meeting on Thursday with the President of the Arab Affairs Committee at the House of Representatives, Mohamed Abou Hemeila, to discuss ways to invigorate mechanisms of joint Arab action and coordinate efforts in support of national interests, while bolstering regional security and stability.

At the meeting, Abdelatty highlighted the pride of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaborating with the House of Representatives and its various committees. He emphasized the significance of coordination with Arab partners to address common regional challenges and enhance Arab solidarity in the face of rapid developments and successive crises in the region.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister also reviewed efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with brotherly Arab countries, underscoring the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and the activation of friendship groups to enhance institutional ties with Arab parliaments.

He also stressed the need to continue supporting the fundamental principles of Egyptian foreign policy, particularly respecting state sovereignty, rejecting foreign interference in Arab affairs, and promoting economic cooperation and investment among brotherly Arab countries.

On his part, Abou Hemeila expressed the Arab Affairs Committee’s commitment to ongoing cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support Egyptian foreign policy initiatives in the Arab arena and actively contribute to safeguarding Egyptian and Arab national security parameters amid current challenges.
