“It’s a dream season,” explains defender Jimmy Burgho. “We started very well, and we kept winning. When it’s like that, weeks pass by quickly, and we are always happy. On Saturday, we took a huge step towards promotion. We won with a great match. Limoges is a very good team, the first half was played at a fast pace.”

As he celebrates his 37th birthday, the captain of Tulle is having a great season. “There are only young players in this group, but I adapt. Last season was very tough both physically and mentally, we fought against relegation all year. This season is really refreshing. It brings me a lot of joy.”

“After last season, the former Nantes-trained defender did not see himself leaving the struggling ship,” he says. “My priority was to bring the club back up. I couldn’t see myself leaving after everything TFC and the president did for me. The most important thing was to bring the club back up.”

While waiting to confirm promotion to N3, TFC will have a break with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Cup. TFC will host Villenave-d’Ornon, another team from R1, on Saturday, April 4th. “We may not play the cup until the end,” Burgho explains. The cup ends after the championship, so the regulars of the R1 group will be preserved in case of qualification for the cup once R1 is over, to prepare for the next season.

But before that, they will give their all in this competition. “We will play it, it gives us matches and rhythm. This weekend will be very serious. We play to win, apply our game plan, and represent the club well. We will face a very good team, it will be a good test to maintain our rhythm and thirst for victory. It’s really good.”
