Around 1600 members attended the Gladbach annual general meeting at Borussia-Park on Monday. In addition to the executive board led by Rainer Bonhof (74), the meeting was also attended by head coach Eugen Polanski (40) and the team council including Rocco Reitz (23), Nico Elvedi (29), Philipp Sander (27), Kevin Diks (29), and Moritz Nicolas (28, representing captain Tim Kleindienst).

Following the welcome, honoring of deceased members, and recognition of long-term memberships, emotions ran high during the club management report. Before President Rainer Bonhof (74) highlighted special moments from the past year such as record membership numbers, record attendance, the 125-year anniversary celebration, and the U17 German championship, the Fohlen legend shed a few tears on stage. He struggled to hold back his emotions as he discussed the team’s current situation.

In a separate event, commentators praised a gum trick performed by Polanski. (Context: This article covers details from Gladbach’s annual general meeting, including emotional moments and financial updates.)

Bonhof described the year as challenging and emotional, expressing physical pain over disappointing results but finding strength in the support of the fans. Despite reporting a loss of around 4 million euros, financial chief Stefan Stegemann (62) announced the club’s fourth-highest revenue of 189 million euros in Bundesliga history.
