On May 1, 2026 at 5:00 pm, Pablo Mateo will be heading to Gaborone, Botswana to compete in the World Relay Championships. Representing AC Lisses, Mateo will be part of the 4x100m men’s and mixed relay groups alongside other talented sprinters. Mateo, the current French indoor 60m champion, expressed his dedication to running as fast as possible and winning medals.
Having competed in athletics for twelve years, Mateo transitioned from a football background to pursue track and field. Despite a good indoor season, Mateo is eager to achieve more internationally. He embraces the discipline, mental toughness, and sacrifices required in athletics, believing they shape his character.
With a focus on qualifying the French team for the European Championships and future world events, Mateo remains ambitious about his personal goals for the season. Training in Mauritius ahead of the World Relay Championships, Mateo aims to run his fastest and claim victory on the track.
