Germany is in football fever! On Saturday, the new season of the German Football League kicks off, with TV star Carsten Spengemann in the midst of it. The 53-year-old will be at the GFL conference on the mic and is excited for the 47th season of the German Bundesliga.
From 3.25 pm it starts on DF1, with kick-off at 4 pm. Alongside Roman Motzkus, with whom he has already commented on over 100 NFL shows, Spengemann is ready for action in the GFL. Under the motto “GFL instead of NFL,” the duo will now follow the league.
The stage is set: 15 teams will battle over 16 weeks to reach the GFL Bowl on October 3 in Dresden. The defending champions are the Potsdam Royals, but the competition has significantly strengthened. The level of performance is considered higher than ever before.
For Spengemann, one thing is clear: “This will be the most exciting GFL season in years! The level of performance is higher than ever.”
One reason for this is that many national players have returned to the league. “From North to South, now anyone can beat anyone,” says Spengemann.
Especially gaining attention are the Dresden Monarchs, who signed Montigo Moss, son of NFL legend Randy Moss. The receiver has already shown his potential in test games.
But Ravensburg, Berlin, and Schwäbisch Hall have also significantly strengthened their squads. especially Ravensburg aims to prove that last year’s success was no fluke, after a narrow semifinal defeat against Dresden.
Completing the TV team is Maurice Stolka, who will keep an eye on all games in the studio to ensure no highlight is missed.
Spengemann is convinced: “We will have 16 weeks of strong football – week after week.”
