Believe Munongo Signs First Professional Contract at FC Metz
Believe Munongo, a young midfielder aged just sixteen, has now joined the list of young players from the training center who have taken this step. Born in Metz, he went through CO Bellecroix and UL Plantières before joining the club in 2018, signing a three-year contract with his training club.
This season, Believe Munongo has played in ten Ligue 1 matches. He was even a starter in four matches: against Angers (1-0), Auxerre (1-3), Brest (0-1), and Lens (3-0).
On January 25th, during the match against Olympique Lyonnais (2-5), Munongo became the youngest player to play for FC Metz at just 16 years and 63 days old since Opta started collecting data in the 1947-1948 season.
As a French U17 international, the young professional from Metz will soon compete in the Euro U17 Championship in Estonia (from May 25th to June 7th).
Believe Munongo is the sixth young player from the FC Metz training center to sign a professional contract this season, following Diego Duarte, Adam Marchal, Nathan Mbala, Abdoulaye Nassoko, and Tahirys Dos Santos.
