CRITIQUE – Drawing on its experience accumulated on HitmanIO Interactive delivers one of the best video game adaptations of James Bond. Its narration has nothing to envy of the films.

By entrusting its successful license to the Danish development studio IO Interactive, Amazon MGM Studios has achieved the unthinkable: making us forget the latest wanderings of Daniel Craig, to finally deliver to us not a blockbuster low front, as the saga has given us so much, but a finely narrated work, perfectly paced, and not content to be a simple “interactive film”.

Full of possibilities, First Light is above all a video game – much more than the benchmark of the Hollywood genre has ever been in the industry: Uncharted. The comparison is not fortuitous, as we feel that the Danes have sought to keep the best of Sony’s license (its spectacular action, its cunning and irreverent hero, its destinations around the globe…) to get rid of what is worst, namely its excessive linearity, that is. constant ludonarrative dissonance…
