An official video hits 2.3 million views then disappears in some countries; a third-party broadcaster is acknowledged to have priority over the same content.

YouTube hides NVIDIA’s DLSS 5 video

NVIDIA’s official announcement video for DLSS 5 is no longer accessible to some YouTube users, replaced by a message indicating a copyright infringement blockage in favor of the Italian channel La7. The view counter already showed over 2.3 million views before the regional masking.

According to reports, La7 allegedly broadcasted excerpts of the DLSS 5 presentation, and then their show ended up associated with the same material on YouTube. Paradoxically, NVIDIA’s earlier upload loses visibility against a more recent third-party re-broadcast exploiting the same sequence.

The incident showcases the flaws of an automated claiming system, with content identification that does not effectively differentiate between the original and a televised replay. Some commentators also suggest that if the images were generated by AI, their legal status would further complicate the claims.

What this says about the treatment of technical content

For a launch like DLSS 5, losing availability on YouTube weakens the communication sequence and distorts the discoverability of the source content. As long as the hierarchy between the original upload and third-party replay is not solidified by the platform, this type of algorithmic collision will remain a risk for high-traffic announcements.
