The cinema in the town of Verdun-sur-le-Doubs had to close its doors when television arrived. Bought by Sébastien Seveste, it became an exhibition gallery for recycled objects.
“I reinvent a product by diverting it from its original use, I like to tell stories”, underlines the artist initially installed in the suburb of Verdun-Ciel. He continues: “I wanted to be more readable with the redemption of old cinema. This 150 m2 space, with an additional 25 m2 mezzanine, is not just a simple acquisition of premises. I want to make it a living place of culture, by recreating a screening room for films which remain to be defined but open to schools, while keeping the western atmosphere, in its original form, with the appropriate decorations. »
Créations, concerts, friperie, brocante…
In the center, Sébastien’s workshop has become the beating heart of Ciném’Art, a place of creation, but also of sharing. The transformation of the old cinema is also a great team story because Sébastien’s friends got involved, notably Marina and Nicolas from “Vintage and then†, another artistic universe in Bragny-sur-Saône.
This universe will be open to the public during two open days on June 20 and 21 and activities will also be offered at the nearby Faubourg Saint-Jean, the initial location of the Planète Maison workshop created by Sébastien Seveste.
The program is copious and varied, emphasizes Sébastien: “It will combine artisanal creations, concerts (Bad Ticket and Sameblood, then DJ Event of Sound), refreshment bar and catering, men’s thrift store, outdoor flea market and tattoo (Sombre d’Å’il) in its space dedicated to upstairs. »
Saturday June 20 and Sunday June 21, Ciném’Art 14, Route de Verjux in Verdun-Ciel and Faubourg Saint-Jean.
