Movement of the agents of the Direction des Affaires Culturelles de Guadeloupe (Press Release SNSD-CGT/SNAC-FSU)
Published on April 8, 2026.
The Strike as a means of action is rarely used in decentralized services, however, the agents of DAC Guadeloupe went on strike massively on March 31, 2026 (see the previous press release).
After a general assembly where both strikers and non-strikers agreed on the situation, all agents benefitted from the presence of the interim Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture and the Director of coordination and territorial action, who happened to be in the Antilles.
Various topics were discussed openly and candidly, including losing a position to create a new prefecture in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, the absence of signature delegation, expectations regarding vacant positions, monitoring and corrections in career evolutions, the budget issues with a 50% reduction in the budget for historical monuments, work overload, and workplace suffering from the previous Director.
On all these issues, the Secretary General of the ministry, the DCAT, and the DAC committed to finding satisfactory solutions quickly.
The agents then went to the prefecture to present their demands. The event received good media coverage (see the Franceinfo JT report from Guadeloupe).
We hope that the agents have been heard and that their expectations will be met.
For a peaceful and collective work at DAC Guadeloupe in service of the Ministry of Culture.
