The Philharmonie de Paris has just launched an exhibition dedicated to video game music to celebrate the way this art form integrates. It includes titles from well-known games like Just Dance, Guitar Hero, and Assassin’s Creed. For the occasion, the editorial team has discovered three lesser-known musical video games that will make you want to shake your best hips!

“Dead As Disco” Let’s start with a game where you have to fight to the rhythm of music. It’s a game from Brain Jar Games studio that mixes martial arts and music in a colorful universe where you have to beat incoming enemies, make combos, all to the beat of the music. If you enjoyed Hi-Fi Rush, which is in the same genre, you will love Dead As Disco and its flamboyant atmosphere. The game offers a variety of songs to groove to, as well as the ability for players to import their favorite songs. Players can even adjust the latency to synchronize the music with the game and groove to the beat on their enemies.

Dead As Disco has not been released yet, but a demo is available on the Steam platform, and the developers are already announcing the possibility of integrating characters from other universes through mods, custom modifications. For example, you could play as Mira from the film “KPop Demon Hunters” and beat up opponents to the music of the same film.

“People of Note” This time, we delve into a musical role-playing game where you have to sing and fight to the music. The idea behind People of Note is to play as Cadence, a singer who recruits musicians to form a group and become a star! To achieve this, she must face enemies with her band through turn-based rhythm combats. People of Note, a musical comedy in video game version, was released on April 7 on Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series.

“Riziki” This game will appeal to Just Dance players frustrated by the lack of African music in the game. Riziki is a Nigerian mobile game that allows players to groove to music from the African continent. Players can create and stylize their character, make them dance local steps by hitting the corresponding keys at the right time, and even compete against other players in a competitive mode, all in Afro-futuristic settings. Riziki is developed by the studio Weza Interactive Entertainment and is available for free on the Playstore.
