Claude Jorda, a former French magistrate who held prominent positions in the judicial system, has now embarked on a career as a writer. After serving as director of Judicial Services for four years, and later as attorney general in Bordeaux and Paris, he went on to become a judge at the International Criminal Tribunal created by the UN during the Balkan war. He later served as president of the Tribunal. During the conflict in Rwanda, he was appointed the first French judge of the International Criminal Court.

Returning to Bordeaux for personal reasons marked the beginning of Claude Jorda’s “third life”: a life of writing. Tired of writing reports, preparing speeches, and drafting official texts, he turned to fiction. His first novel was written about ten years ago, followed by a second in quick succession.

His latest work, “God had finally taken care of it,” invites readers to delve into a chance encounter between a woman and a man with opposing backgrounds along the Camino de Santiago. Each carries their own personal burdens as they journey together. Jorda seeks to capture the randomness of life through this story, exploring the unexpected encounters that shape our lives.
