The second stage in Marbella for OM did not receive unanimous support from the team of “Rothen s’enflamme” on RMC this Monday evening. Eric Di Meco points to a training camp probably done “for the wrong reasons.”
OM is back in Marbella. As revealed by RMC Sport on Saturday, Habib Beye and his players left for Andalusia this Monday and will go directly to Lorient for their next Ligue 1 match on Saturday, April 18th (5:00 pm). The second stage in two months on the Costa del Sol, whose usefulness was questioned by the team of “Rothen s’enflamme” on RMC this Monday.
“The first stage in February, I was not critical because it was a way for Habib Beye to save time, to have his players at hand daily to get to know them,” said Jérôme Rothen. “But as soon as there is an objective to achieve, you must leave Marseille and La Commanderie…”
“A proposition that Christophe Dugarry, who spent three seasons at OM, also supported. “Marseille is and will always be a special environment that you cannot compare with any other. It’s just to try to find a little calm. You are avoiding something that will be negative for performance,” emphasized the consultant for RMC.
“In these cases, you don’t change your name or logo, you still call yourself OM but for the Olympique de Marbella,” joked Eric Di Meco. Before becoming more serious: “I find this training camp unnecessary and it reflects a fragility at all levels that may explain OM’s results this year… I have the impression that OM is not leaving for the right reasons,” regretted the former defender.
“They will be right if it works, that’s all. Otherwise, it will be ridiculous. Imagine you go there, and next weekend you get beaten in Lorient… Then you will have to take responsibility. As Duga says, there’s nothing serious about it.”
