Since its beginnings in 2010, Kulturnatt continues to evolve. This year marks a new milestone with the largest number of participating venues ever. From 6 pm to midnight, Stockholm opens wide the doors of its cultural life with free entry for all visitors. Each person can create their own pathway through the night. The program for this edition includes interpretations of country dances, ship pavements, ghost shows, swing sessions, silent films, and even graffiti sessions.

An enriched program

Classical music, DJ, theater, contemporary dance, poetry, cinema, architecture… Institutions are joining in with reimagined formats for the occasion. The Moderna Museet, open until 2 am, pays tribute this year to electronic musician David Tudor through an eight-hour performance. Visitors can also explore the exhibition of photographer Brassaï dedicated to the secrets of Paris, take part in a creative workshop, watch a film, or dance. At the Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, the atmosphere will be equally festive, with karaoke night, sign language stand-up, and even a political quiz for debate enthusiasts. Liljevalchs offers an evening entirely dedicated to contemporary art with two exhibitions to explore, an interactive performance, and art keys to borrow for a self-guided tour in search of hidden works in the halls.

Iconic venues opened differently

The City Hall exceptionally opens its doors to explore the mythical rooms, with the opportunity to climb the tower.

Free but better to plan ahead

The evening is accessible to all, without tickets or registration in the vast majority of cases. However, some highly sought-after events require prior reservation. The complete program is available on the official website where it is possible to plan your own night of culture.
