The Bayern Munich will face PSG in the Champions League semi-final after beating Real Madrid in a thrilling second leg match (4-3). The game took a significant turn after the controversial expulsion of Eduardo Camavinga.

This incident will be heavily debated in Spain in the coming hours. Was Eduardo Camavinga’s late-game expulsion justified or too severe? Already cautioned in the 78th minute after a rough tackle on Jamal Musiala, the Rennes player, who came on in the 61st minute, received a second yellow card only 8 minutes and 9 seconds after the initial warning. After fouling Harry Kane, the French international intentionally held onto the ball sought by Joshua Kimmich before throwing it far from the Bayern’s midfield. As a result, Slavko Vincic brandished the yellow card again, seemingly forgetting that he had already warned Camavinga.

Arbeloa: “No one understands this red card”

“You can’t send a player off for that,” Alvaro Arbeloa stated on Movistar. “I think the referee didn’t realize he had already shown a yellow card, which is why he issued the second one. The referee ruined the match. He spoiled a very balanced encounter, and that’s how the match ended.”

Real Madrid’s coach echoed similar sentiments to Canal +: “No one understands this red card, it disrupted the match. The Liga is still there, we have to finish the season. My future doesn’t concern me much, I think about my players. Real Madrid always bounces back.” He will now try to do so after what looks like a season without a title. A rarity within the white house.
