BMX Starlight Company to Perform Stunts and Initiations at Bagnols Urban Culture Festival
To kick off its 4th edition, the CUB festival (Urban Culture in Bagnols) will host BMX Starlight, a specialist in bike and scooter stunts and acrobatics, on Saturday, April 4th. Based in Cavaillon, the company, known for its shows all over France and occasionally abroad, is making its first appearance in Bagnols-sur-Cèze.
“We were at Puy du Fou last weekend. We respond to calls from municipalities or associations organizing events. The goal is to offer shows that are out of the ordinary. People are not used to seeing this and everyone really enjoys it,” said Gérard Garcia, manager of the Starlight BMX team and rider himself.
“It’s like a fireworks display”
The program includes ground acrobatics, jumps off ramps, somersaults, all performed on BMX, mountain bikes, or scooters! “We offer several 20 to 30-minute sessions. We want to show everything we can do with a BMX. Then, between each show, we offer scooter initiations to get the children involved. It’s really a hands-on show, we bring our sound system for the music, all this beautiful mix, it’s like a fireworks display!”
In Bagnols, four riders will be present, including Gérard Garcia, who has been doing BMX for 40 years now. “Most riders come from the region and the south of France. Some are from Marseille or Montpellier, like Luca Bertrand, who participated in the Paris Olympics.” Unfortunately, Bertrand will not be in Bagnols due to injury. “He should be back for Fise in Montpellier.” But he will be replaced by other experienced riders who will give their all to thrill the people of Bagnols.
The show will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Château Square. Free admission.
The CUB festival will continue with the one-man show “Apocalypse now now” by comedian Dedo, on Saturday, April 4th, at 8:30 p.m. at La Pyramide. Prices: Full price €18, reduced and Pyramide card €13, children under 16 years €7.
