As part of the second edition of the Noires Musiques Festival organized by the Iwa association, the Lambézellec media library hosted two events on Thursday, April 9, 2026, in Brest: the African book truck of the Paroles Indigo association and a free concert of African songs. “This year, we have a longer format, for a week. We organize cultural activities in schools, such as meetings with artists. The African book truck offers workshops on topics that affect the present communities,” explains Camille Le Brouster, in charge of mediation and administration at the Iwa association.
Senegalese culture in the spotlight
The story truck of the African book truck made a stop all day in Lambézellec with, on board, a rich selection of youth and adult books from Africa and African communities around the world (bright albums, tales, novels, contemporary stories…). In the morning, about forty children from Dukas and Buisson schools listened to a story related to Africa and then did activities related to this story. In the afternoon, an activity was offered as part of the conversation workshop for adults learning French. About forty people participated in this moment of exchange and conviviality. Finally, the day ended with a free concert by the Assane Dieye trio, representing Senegalese culture. The numerous audience particularly enjoyed this festive musical event.
