Julien Lieb made waves in the Maritima studios! Discover the replay of his exclusive interview where he talks about his album “Naufragés” and his tour, which will stop at 6MIC in Aix and the Martigues Summer Festiv’Halle. A few months after his notable appearance on Maritima Live at Espace Nova de Velaux, Julien Lieb was back for a special episode of La Famille Maritima. Amidst his national tour last year, the Star Academy finalist opened up to Laurent about his rapid rise, prestigious collaborations, and unwavering bond with the Southern audience.
“Naufragés”: the emergence of an artistic identity Released last September, his album “Naufragés” is the result of relentless work and a fierce desire to assert himself as a songwriter. For Julien, this project marks a necessary transition from TV exposure to the reality of the artist’s profession.
“I wanted to be discovered artistically rather than personally, even though it also involved sharing my experiences for people to understand me.”
The album kicks off with a pleasant surprise: the voice of Emmanuel Curtil (the iconic French voice of Simba and Chandler). A childhood dream for this devoted Lion King fan. Julien also had the support of Soprano, whom he met on the show that revealed him. The sound engineer for the “Cosca”, Philippe Amir, also worked on the album, making it easier for the Marseille idol to come to the studio.
“Soprano is someone generous and warm. He really didn’t hesitate to visit a ‘youngster’ in the studio to create music with him.”
An intense tour and an intergenerational audience While Julien Lieb recently stood out in the Danse avec les Stars adventure alongside Elsa Bois – an intense physical ‘crash-test’ experience, his true passion remains the music scene. His current tour is a huge success, driven by hits like “BPM” and “Dis-moi où”, turning every venue into a lively dance floor.
“For me, there’s nothing better than having a blast with my friends on stage, with the audience. That’s the goal of my life.”
The singer delights in seeing audiences of all ages flock to his concerts, creating a unique communion that he is eager to find in the South.
Unmissable events: Aix-en-Provence and Martigues Julien Lieb is set to reunite with his Southern audience for two major events. On April 29, he will be on stage at 6MIC in Aix-en-Provence for a concert that promises to be electrifying.
The highlight of his summer will undoubtedly be his participation in the Martigues Summer Festiv’Halle on July 26. He will share the stage with a French music legend, Jean-Louis Aubert, for the festival’s closing night. A significant moment for someone rapidly climbing the ranks of French variety music. Note that his friend Helena will also open the festival in Martigues on July 24.
