The Alésienne Etane wins the Paloma Young Talent Scholarship

The final of the “Youth Talent Scholarship” competition organized by the City of Nîmes took place last night at Paloma. Five emerging artists presented their work to the audience and a jury. The 26-year-old Etane from Alès won the 10,000 euro scholarship following a remarkable performance. The hope prize went to Yuhna Foster.

The Youth Talent Scholarship, a music platform supported by the City of Nîmes, came to a close tonight at Paloma in Nîmes. Five finalists were selected to showcase their artistic projects on a packed club stage.

Yuhna Foster, a hip-hop and pop artist, delivered an outstanding performance. As a writer, composer, and singer, she crafts very personal lyrics dealing with doubt, mental health, and the search for meaning. She was joined on stage by her beatmaker and musician Nuwtone.

Singer Lucille Dracius presented her pop project. Passionate about singing from a young age, Lucille initially studied design before pursuing musicology. Her years of training allowed her to learn music theory, connect with her pianist, and develop her musical project. Lutèce, also a finalist, operates in the pop genre.

Another candidate, Etane, an artist from Occitania, transitioned from writing poems to rapping. After collaborating on several projects, she is now building her solo career. She has performed at the Delta Festival, MaMA Festival, and as the opening act for Zinée at Mécenome. Rapper Mokda completed this selection.

The final of the “Youth Talent Scholarship” celebrates promising young artists who showcase their artistic vision to the public and a jury. At the end of the evening, Etane was named the winner of this edition and received the 10,000 euro scholarship. The hope prize went to Yuhna Foster.
