On March 26th, the Théâtre de Gascogne will host “De Lumière”, a sensitive and luminous show with David Alaya. Between memory, Southern culture, and intimate quest, this creation immerses the audience in a poetic journey between ferias and bullfights. A culture that resonates in the Landes region.

On the 26th of March, the Théâtre de Gascogne will light up with a unique creation called “De Lumière”, a piece at the intersection of theater, music, and intimate storytelling. Presented by the company Le Grand Cerf Bleu, this show promises to be a sensory and profoundly human experience.

Through a delicate blend of autofiction and documentary writing, “De Lumière” invites us to explore what connects us to our childhood and our roots. On stage, actor David Ayala engages with two musicians in a stripped-down staging, allowing space for emotion and memory. The show takes the form of an initiatory journey around the figure of the absent father, a universal reflection on transmission and heritage.

The feria serves as the starting point for discussing life, origins, and roots. But what gives this creation its strength is its grounding in Southern culture. Between ferias, bullfighting, and popular traditions, the work resonates with a deeply Gascony imaginary. This identity, both festive and tragic, becomes the basis for a broader exploration: that of the relationship with death, dreams of glory, and the quest for light.

In a region where culture is lived as much as it is transmitted, this show fully integrates into the dynamic of the Montois territory. The Théâtre de Gascogne, a recognized stage for its demanding yet accessible programming, confirms its role as a conveyor of emotions and contemporary stories.
