The most affordable X3D processor is now available in more regions, offering better gaming performance at an affordable price.
AMD has to offer more of these products, as the market currently relies on DDR4 platforms. The AM4 platform, which persists, supports the hardware sector in the face of RAM shortages, and the Ryzen 5000 series continues to sell very well. Unfortunately, AMD has stopped production of the most powerful gaming processors, like the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and 5800X3D, but the Ryzen 5600X3D and 5500X3D are still available, albeit in limited quantities.
The Ryzen 5 5500X3D, launched last year, is AMD’s first X3D offering that was initially reserved for Latin America. This year, it is starting to spread to other regions, notably in China, even though AMD has not officially announced this expansion. This model is now listed at the retailer PC Tec UK for 249 euros (179 pounds) and may soon be available in Europe.
This processor is offered in OEM edition, different from its launch in China. Users who are having trouble getting the Ryzen 5600X3D, which is only available on certain sales sites, will appreciate the variety of AM4 options on the market. The Ryzen 5 5500X3D comes close to the gaming performance of the 5600X3D, with the same 6-core, 12-thread configuration based on the Zen 3 architecture.
With a total L3 cache of 96 MB, the Ryzen 5 5500X3D is attractive for gaming setups. With a judicious budget, it is possible to build a powerful computer around this processor for less than 1300 euros. Currently, the Ryzen 5600 and Ryzen 5800X/XT are very present on the market, but they do not compete with the X3D variants in terms of gaming performance.
We hope that AMD will soon expand the availability of Ryzen 5 5500X3D and 5600X3D processors.
