Crimson Desert is perhaps the new reference in open-world gaming. The game promises to captivate the most perfectionist players in the upcoming months and to always have the latest game from Pearl Abyss on hand, it is available in cloud gaming. But is it playable?

Anticipated for years, what was supposed to be a prequel to Black Desert Online ultimately turned out to be the largest sandbox we’ve ever seen. Crimson Desert is an action-adventure game like dozens we’ve played, reserved for those who enjoy long journeys through wild expanses and secondary quests to the point of forgetting the main ones.

Available since March 19 on PC, Sony, and Microsoft consoles, Crimson Desert is also playable in cloud gaming. However, the recommended configurations for Crimson are demanding on PC, making cloud gaming a much less expensive alternative. Before investing heavily in the necessary RAM and storage, let’s see if Crimson Desert is playable in cloud gaming.

At its release, Crimson Desert is available on three cloud gaming platforms: – Nvidia GeForce Now from the Performance formula at 10.99 euros per month (Steam purchase required – compatible with RTX 5080 servers); – Xbox Cloud Gaming from the Game Pass Essential formula at 8.99 euros per month (game purchase required on Xbox Store); – Boosteroid from the Ultra formula at 7.49 euros per month (Steam purchase required).

Our test of Crimson Desert in cloud gaming was conducted to evaluate performance on fiber optic, Wi-Fi, and 5G networks using different devices and platforms. The test results varied, with some devices showing smooth gameplay and others experiencing frame rate drops and latency issues.

Overall, the game is enjoyable but not without its flaws, especially noticeable during pauses in the game menu where frame rate drops occur. The experience varies depending on the device and network connection, with some sessions being unplayable due to frame rate issues.

In conclusion, the game’s performance in cloud gaming is mixed, with some devices and connections providing a better experience than others. It is recommended to choose the right platform and network connection for optimal gameplay.
