At KubeCon Europe 2026, Mirantis takes a step forward by integrating the Nvidia NCX Infra Controller into its k0rdent AI platform, now open to the community. The goal is to transform Kubernetes into a unified orchestration layer for GPU computing, networking, and storage, delivering a composable and reproducible AI infrastructure for cloud operators and large enterprises, free from proprietary silos of hyperscalers.

The next phase of AI deployment in enterprises focuses on orchestrating large-scale GPU environments, automating high-performance networking and storage provisioning, and delivering a consistent platform without manual integrations. This is where Mirantis positions itself with announcements made in Amsterdam during KubeCon CloudNativeCon Europe 2026.

The company has built its expertise over more than a decade of OpenStack and Kubernetes deployments in production for top-tier companies and service providers. Today, it repositions its k0rdent AI platform as a unified control plane for the entire AI stack, integrating the Nvidia NCX Infra Controller according to the standards of the Nvidia AI Cloud Ready Initiative.

k0rdent AI orchestrates the entire path from hardware to model, supporting Nvidia’s portfolio of reference architectures such as Ampere, Hopper, and Blackwell. The platform aims to industrialize GPU environments for neoclouds and enterprises, emphasizing reproducible models over ad hoc configurations.

Mirantis partners with Netris, Supermicro, and Vast Data to complement the k0rdent AI platform in networking, computing, and storage. These integrations aim to automate Kubernetes cluster delivery, sovereign AI environments, and high-performance storage, creating a composable architecture validated and interoperable without relying on a single vendor.

Mirantis’s strategy is built on the belief that open source will become the de facto standard for enterprise AI infrastructure, similar to what OpenStack and Kubernetes have achieved for private cloud. By standardizing IA infrastructure around community-driven technologies like Kubernetes, k0rdent, and the NCX Infra Controller, Mirantis offers an alternative to the proprietary architectures of major hyperscalers, reducing operational and strategic risks as AI workloads intensify.

For IT leaders balancing agility, cost control, and contractual reversibility, Mirantis’s proposition revolves around a composable platform, rooted in open source and operationally validated according to Nvidia’s standards.
