Twitch announces the integration of Ascension, its international circuit dedicated to niche esports, at TwitchCon Europe 2026, which will take place on May 30 and 31 in Rotterdam. This edition marks an important milestone for the program, with the first IRL edition of an Ascension tournament – PUBG: Battlegrounds, in collaboration with ZeratoR and his company ZQSD.

Final at TwitchCon Europe

The tournament final will be held at TwitchCon Europe, bringing together the PUBG and ZeratoR communities in one of the largest streaming events in Europe, offering an unprecedented dimension to the event. ZeratoR, an iconic figure in the French gaming scene, partners with Twitch to offer an innovative competitive format, designed as a true sports experience: intense, narrative, and community-oriented.

This edition of Ascension will bring together more than 60 creators and players in a Duo FPP tournament, with a total prize pool of 110,000 euros, partly funded by ZeratoR’s community through Twitch subscriptions and financial contributions. The competition will take place in several phases: the Grand Final at TwitchCon Rotterdam will offer 100,000 euros, while qualifiers #1 and #2 will each receive 5,000 euros. This initiative highlights the desire to place communities at the heart of the competitive scene, while supporting demanding and creative esports.

An open tournament to Europe

Ascension – PUBG: Battlegrounds adopts an open format, allowing duos from all over Europe to participate via two online qualifications and two wildcard sessions. The best teams will join the 30 already qualified duos for the Grand Final, broadcast live from TwitchCon Rotterdam. Registrations are now open. This accessible format aims to encourage participation and refresh the competitive landscape of Battlegrounds.

Ascension aims to be an annual and evolving competitive program, offering a different game each year while maintaining its core values: a rigorous competitive format, a cinematic and ambitious approach, a strong community dimension, and a performance-focused narrative. This innovative concept aims to energize the esports scene by showcasing emerging games and talents, while providing an immersive experience for viewers.
