The NASA Artemis 2.0 Watch Unveiled

CircuitMess has just launched the NASA Artemis Watch 2.0, a science-fiction, retro-style smartwatch offered at only $129. Its square and transparent design gives it more the appearance of a classic space movie accessory than a modern wearable device.

In terms of hardware, the watch uses an ESP32 microcontroller and supports Bluetooth for connection to Android and iPhone devices. It features an accelerometer, gyroscope, thermometer, and compass, but does not offer common health functions such as heart rate monitoring or oxygen saturation (SpO2). Therefore, this product does not directly compete with the Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch, but rather positions itself as a playful and experimental gadget.

Its most remarkable feature is its open-source software, allowing users to customize the interface, create new applications, and utilize sensor data. With a USB-C port for charging and data transfer, the Artemis Watch 2.0 resembles more of a mini technological project than a traditional smartwatch. It is an interesting option for those who appreciate creativity and a distinctly “geek” aesthetic inspired by NASA.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra: A Long-Range Photography Phone

Oppo has just revealed details about the Find X9 Ultra, emphasizing its telephoto performance. The device will be equipped with a 50-megapixel telephoto lens optimized by Hasselblad, offering a 10x optical zoom, 230mm focal length, and gimbal stabilization for nearly optical image quality up to a 20x zoom.

The highlight lies in the combination of an integrated telephoto system and an external lens kit for professionals. This kit includes 16 lenses and a standard metallic Hasselblad casing, optimizing brightness and sharpness. Oppo claims that this solution combines everyday practicality with advanced photographic demands.

Aside from its camera, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, up to 16GB of RAM, a battery of over 7,000 mAh compatible with 100W fast charging, and a 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED LTPO display at 144Hz. Available internationally starting April 21, it promises to be one of the most powerful high-end smartphones of the year.

Netflix Playground: A Game App for Young Children

Netflix has launched Playground, an independent game app for children under 8 years old. Free for all Netflix subscribers, the app is ad-free, free of integrated purchases, and works offline. Netflix hopes Playground will become the ideal companion during long journeys or waiting times.

Playground’s game library will constantly grow, starting with numerous popular brands. Children can play mini-games with Peppa Pig, explore Sesame Street with Elmo, Big Bird, and Cookie Monster, or engage in puzzles, dot-to-dot games, and memory games. It will also include games inspired by the works of Dr. Seuss and a racing game based on the Bad Dinosaurs series.

The app is currently available in the US and many other countries, with a worldwide release scheduled for April 28. This marks Netflix’s new foray into gaming, following the closure of its AAA studio in 2024. Playground focuses on a fun and educational experience tailored to young children, rather than directly competing with major gaming platforms.
