A team of rescuers from the SNSM intervened at the Etel bar on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, where a rigid inflatable boat capsized.
One of the two people aboard ended up in the water, in serious difficulty in an area of strong currents.
This man was rescued by a surfer who took him on his board and brought him back to shore. The SNSM thanked him in a Facebook post.
The other person on board managed to stay afloat on the hull after the maritime mishap. She was taken care of by the SNSM, assisted by the Belz firefighters who were also on site with their jet ski.
The rigid inflatable boat was towed to the port of Etel.
The daughter of the man who was rescued by the surfer is looking to find him to thank him for his act and left the following comment on the SNSM’s Facebook post.
