On the occasion of its open day, the Ehpad des Sources in Saint-Jean-du-Falga welcomed visitors, families, and partners to present its project and its functioning.

André Montané, historical administrator, traced the origins of the ADSEA, created by Aglaë Moyne. Based on a lay philosophy, the association promotes living together and respect, with a strong intergenerational bond between children and seniors. In 1993, this initiative was rewarded with a European prize for social innovation. Faced with evolving needs, the historic site in Pamiers became too small. Under the impetus of Bernard Soula, then mayor of Pamiers, a new facility was established in 2013. “It took seven years to materialize this project,” recalls Bruno Bonzom, director of ADSEA 09.

Today, the Ehpad accommodates 94 residents and has expanded with an Alzheimer’s unit and ten places for elderly people with disabilities.

“A reassuring, well-thought-out place close to home”

The support is based on a central principle: respect for the dignity and life project of each individual. Residents have adapted rooms and actively participate in the life of the facility. Designed as a living space, the Ehpad offers bright spaces, open to nature, with secure circulation areas promoting autonomy. A therapeutic garden is planned to strengthen these approaches. The testimonials collected during the visit are positive.

A family member points out: “A reassuring, well-thought-out place close to home.” Residents and staff cite a daily routine filled with activities, a good atmosphere, and quality support. The nursing staff also highlight positive working conditions. “The management listens, the team is united, and the facility offers a modern, bright, and functional environment,” explains a nurse who has been present for five years. Finally, a resident sums up the spirit of the place: “I feel good here. The staff is kind and dedicated. If I had to do it over, I would come back without hesitation.”

Through this open day, the Ehpad des Sources confirms its ambition to be a true living space, attentive and respectful, adapted to the challenges of aging and disabilities.
