Katarina Gryvul
Katarina Gryvul is a composer, sound artist, and musician whose work exists at the intersection of contemporary music, electroacoustic, and immersive forms. She combines acoustic instruments, electronics, and spatialization in her practice, focusing on tone, sound embodiment, and listening experience.
She composes for ensembles, orchestras, film, animation, as well as ambisonic, multichannel, and acousmatic setups. Her works are presented in concerts, installations, and interdisciplinary performance contexts.
Her music has been performed by international ensembles like Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Proton, Ensemble Cairn, Kwartludium, and Sinfonietta Cracovia.
In addition to her composition work, Katarina Gryvul has a significant educational role. She is the founder of Gryvul School, dedicated to teaching composition, music theory, and electroacoustic production, and has conducted master classes, including at Sorbonne and FH Salzburg.
Trained in Lviv, Graz, and Krakow, she has received commissions from Radio France, Présences festival, Warsaw Autumn, Musikprotokoll, and INA GRM. As a performer, she regularly appears at international festivals like CTM, Rewire, Ars Electronica, and Nuits sonores.
