The Music and Sound Festival at the cinema, initiated by the association Culture and Cinema, is hosting its third edition until April 12th in L’Isle en Dodon. With 10 screenings and a bonus evening, the event aims to explore and discover the evocative power of film soundtracks, becoming a must-see cultural event in Comminges.

Following the first two meetings at the end of March, the upcoming evenings promise to be equally remarkable, with original music, silences, sound effects, and songs enhancing the images and stirring the emotions of the audience.

On Friday, April 3rd at 8:30 PM, “On a Bluesy Note” shows how music becomes the thread connecting characters, guiding their choices, and transforming their daily lives, turning each song into a vector of emotion and sharing.

On Saturday, April 4th at 3:30 PM, “Some Notes on Freedom” dives into Michel Portal’s musical workshop, where creation, improvisation, and play embody freedom through every note and breath.

On Saturday, April 4th at 8:30 PM, “Vassiliu from Father to Daughter” follows a documentary on the father with Lena Vassiliu offering an intimate concert featuring her own songs and some of Pierre Vassiliu’s tunes.

On Sunday, April 5th at 5 PM, “The Light Never Dies” brings together images and sounds where each light and sound nuance narrate emotions and memories.

On Monday, April 6th at 8:30 PM, “La Grazzia” (original version with subtitles) plays with sounds and silences, where music and sound ambiance become voices telling stories and inhabiting each image.

On Tuesday, April 7th at 8:30 PM, “Bugonia” transforms sounds and atmospheres into full-fledged actors, where music and noises drive the emotional core of the narrative.

On Friday, April 10th at 8:30 PM, “Stray Kids: The Ultimate Experience” is an immersive concert film where each song and performance immerse the viewer in the group’s energy.

On Saturday, April 11th at 10 AM, “The Cameraman” by Buster Keaton revives the silent film era with live accompaniment, breathing vitality and rhythm back into the moving image.

On Saturday, April 11th at 8:30 PM, the 7th Lab reinterprets “The Artist” by Michel Hazanavicius, offering a fresh perspective through live music that refreshes the viewing experience.

Some events will feature cine-concerts where music will be played live during the screening. Other sessions will be accompanied by concerts before or after the film, extending the musical experience beyond the screen. In conjunction with the festival, a bonus day will extend the celebration of the links between music and cinema with a concert presented in partnership with the association Les Amis des Orgues, performed by the group La Mandolinata de Tarbes on Sunday, April 12th at 5 PM.
