In 2024, the audience then discovered a brand-new class of the Star Academy, including Charles Doré, who quickly connected with Ulysse, then Marine. At the start of the adventure, the candidate had a few scares. Indeed, he seemed to not fully control his voice. And then, the click. Initially reprimanded by Sofia Morgavi, the singing teacher then took him under her wing to help him reveal his true potential.
Result: a spot on tour, and especially a semifinalist title against Marine, who could work with a famous French singer. Like many of his classmates, Charles Doré also released a song. A debut single, “Je pars mais je reste,” which was actually a cover of Philippe Campion. A detail far from going unnoticed. Speaking to Voici, Charles Doré opened up about the criticism around this song. It, however, allowed him to connect with his audience and show a first glimpse of his artistic universe.
Context: Charles Doré was a contestant on the Star Academy reality show and gained popularity with his music career after the show.

Why did Charles Doré give up on participating in Dancing with the Stars?
Since then, Charles Doré has released a debut album titled “A l’équilibre.” He was back at the castle this year to sing with the students and offer them valuable advice. He notably warned them about life after Star Academy, which he found challenging. Not easy to overcome criticism, surround oneself with the right people for a musical project, or maintain a connection with the audience. But today, Charles Doré seems to be on the right track.
Aside from Star Academy, he could have also appeared on another iconic show: Dancing with the Stars! “I took the tests, but it wasn’t possible for me this season,” he explains to Télé-Loisirs. The musician almost shared the dance floor with a former classmate, Emma, who fell during DALS rehearsals. So, why did Charles have to give up on the show? “We tried to see if it was feasible with the dates of my tour, but in the end, it didn’t work out,” he explains. Schedule conflicts made it impossible for him to go on the show.
Which Star Academy figures participated in Dancing with the Stars 2025?
Indeed, Charles Doré’s tour forced him to perform on several Friday evenings, precisely when the show is broadcast. It would have also been challenging for the singer to keep up with the dance training and his tour dates. However, Charles Doré, who has no intention of changing his name, seems to be a perfect candidate for next year: “If they offer it to me again and it’s possible, I’m not closed off at all. I will see it as another adventure to learn from,” he says.
A nice invitation from the production. However, it’s unclear if he follows the paths of former Star Academy participants who joined the show. Besides Emma, who will defend her spot in the quarter-finals this Friday, Julien Lieb and his dancer Elsa Bois have been eliminated from the competition. Still in the running, Charles Doré’s former roommate, Lucie Bernardoni, should also be present on the show tonight, despite her recent arrest for violence against her daughter. Will Star Academy be represented in the semi-finals of DALS?
