Aubrey Plaza is known to the French audience for her role in season 2 of the series The White Lotus. She began a romantic relationship with actor Chris Abbott in the summer of 2025. Abbott has appeared in the series Girls (2012-2016) and the movie Black Bear (2020), alongside Aubrey Plaza. They also co-starred in the play Danny and the Deep Blue Sea in 2023.
The actress’s previous relationship made headlines early last year when her husband, director Jeff Baena, tragically passed away in Los Angeles. His suicide came a few months after their discreet separation. They were married in 2021 and had worked together on several professional projects.
Three days after the tragedy, Aubrey Plaza spoke out. “It’s an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to all those who have offered their support. Please respect our privacy during this time,” she said in a statement.
“In general, I’m here, I’m functioning, and I feel really grateful to be able to move forward in life. I’m okay. But, you know, it’s a daily struggle,” the actress later affirmed in a podcast.
