It was a beloved and popular actor. The funeral of Bruno Salomone brought together hundreds of people on Monday, March 23 in Joinville-le-Pont, in the Val-de-Marne. The ceremony was open to the public a few days after his death at 55 from cancer. There wasn’t enough room to accommodate everyone inside, so several hundred people gathered outside the small red brick church.

Speeches were broadcast, starting with one from his friend Jean Dujardin, very emotional alongside their group of comedians called Nous &Nous. “We will talk about you, about your hypersensitivity, about your talent,” the actor began, visibly moved. Vicky was at the ceremony, dressed in black, handkerchief in hand: “I met Bruno when he was part of the Disney group, with my daughter. Life was almost a party with him.”

Neighbors were present to pay their respects at the tribute. In the funeral procession to the cemetery, celebrities and onlookers mingled. “He had real talent and I wish him in the hereafter that, with his guinea pig, he continues to invent sketches,” said Agnès, a fan of Bruno Salomone for years. Several residents of Joinville also came to honor him, like Pierre and Chantal. “We met him a few times in the street, he was always smiling and pleasant,” recalled Pierre. “It’s normal for Joinville’s residents to come pay their respects as well,” added Chantal.

At the cemetery, the song “Et si tu n’existais pas” by Joe Dassin was played. In the final speeches, many described Bruno Salomone as the one they would have liked to have as a “brother.”
