The Bonbis have emerged undefeated from the pool matches, challenged by Pignan in the quarter-finals, shaken by Fontaine in the first leg of the semi-finals, and staging a fantastic comeback in the second leg, they dominated Limoges in the final to claim the national title in Saint-Chamont (31-17).

For this final stage, coaches Curci and Percherancier stuck with the same lineup as in the previous rounds. The score was 0-12 at the end of the 1st round and then 18-13. During the relay, Yanis Gobin/Balti won the trial of the small boule (37 touches against 36) and took the bonus on the second run, just like Simon in the progressive shooting.

The EBSC scored one point more than Limoges in precision shooting with Balti’s victory (16/11), while Alibert secured a precious bonus (14-18), allowing the Bourguignons to enter the final traditional round with a score of 21-13.

Twenty years later…

A victory in four events was enough for the Bonbis to clinch the victory. Percherancier dominated Guespin in singles 9-2, Van Helder/Fernandez did the same in the doubles 9-1, the triples were trailing 5-7, but Balti secured his combined event with a 16-15 win, securing the victory and the French championship title for EBSC. Twenty years after their first collective title, Chenévieve has turned Côte-d’Or into a stronghold of boule lyonnaise.
