Mickaël Gas is doing his homework, NO counts on its volunteers, Mouna Chebbah eternal (43 years) extends with USAM and Arc Club Nîmois strong in Mexico.

Nîmes Olympique

Gas with Laslandes and Cavalli. This week, for the seventh and final time of the season, Mickaël Gas is at Clairefontaine-en-Yvelines as part of his coaching training. “I have a lot of homework. It’s a rewarding experience and an exceptional human adventure with Lilian Laslandes, Johan Cavalli, and Marvin Martin who are training with me. I’m learning a lot of things and I’m enjoying it. These are things that I can then implement in training,” explained the Nîmes coach who is undergoing the DESJEPS (Diplôme d’Etat supérieur de la jeunesse, de l’éducation populaire et du sport). Having the DESJEPS qualification allows him to manage a young national team if the club has an accredited training center but also a senior team at N3 or N2 level. In case of promotion to Ligue 3, Mickaël Gas could lead the Crocodiles from the bench as the coach who brought the team up. This would prevent a situation like last season when the club had to pay a fine of €7,500 per match because their coach, Adil Hermach, appointed during the 2023-24 season, did not have the required diploma. Before that, Mickaël still has to go through the certification process at the end of the season.

The NO family is growing. A few weeks ago, NO had issued a call on social networks for volunteers willing to help the club. The operation was successful as a volunteer section has just been created with about forty members. “The Nîmes Olympique family is growing with them. This is another sign that the club is even more attractive today than eight months ago,” highlights president Thierry Cenatiempo. Volunteers will help the club with matchday public reception at the Antonins stadium, direct VIPs in the stands, as well as assist with player transport and various areas. They will be essential this Saturday for the reception of Saint-Maur, with possibly a new attendance record being set. “They bring the club to life from the inside, and we need them. Volunteers are invited to join the players in the lounges after the match to interact,” concludes the Nîmes Olympique president together.

Olympique Alès in Cévennes

A spirit of revenge? This Saturday, OAC will return to the championship after a week’s rest and will host ASPTT Dijon for the 22nd matchday of National 3. An opponent that brings back bad memories for the Alès team since, in their last encounter in December, the Cévennes, still undefeated, suffered their first defeat of the season in Burgundy. A bitter defeat after conceding two goals “stupidly,” according to Jean-Marie Pasqualetti. “On the first goal, the team neglected the deep pass, then on the second, we didn’t communicate well, resulting in a penalty.” The frustrating loss put OAC in a difficult position in the following two matches. Despite this defeat, the team will not have a spirit of revenge according to their coach: “We will mainly try to confirm our seriousness after the Carnoux match because, even though they had a fairly young team, they played the game throughout and we remained disciplined throughout the match. So I would like us to maintain that same discipline against Dijon, with the desire to move forward and score more goals if possible.”

USAM Nîmes

Mouna Chebbah extends. At 43 years old, Mouna Chebbah has no intention of retiring. The Tunisian center back has extended her contract with USAM Nîmes for a season, until June 2027. Arriving in 2024, she contributed to the club’s promotion to Division 2, and this season, she is by far the top scorer in the championship with 155 goals in 17 matches, averaging 9.1 goals per game and three consecutive matches with 13 goals. Voted in September 2025, Mouna Chebbah is again in contention for the title of the best D2 player for the month of March. She is competing with Lalie Brouillet (Saint-Grégoire Rennes) and Aidiatou Dembélé (Clermont).

Arc Club Nîmois

Strong Nîmois delegation in Mexico. The international outdoor season started this Tuesday (and lasts until Sunday) in Puebla, Mexico, with the first leg of the World Cup. Three events are on the program: individual, mixed doubles, and team. Four Nîmois are part of the French team with Baptiste Addis (19 years old and 6th in the world), Mila Fremery (19 years old), Alexis Renaudineau (19 years old), and Anaëlle Florent (25 years old) who will make her debut in compound archery at this level. With four athletes out of the 12 in the French team, the Arc Club Nîmes will be the most represented in the national team.
