This weekend, the French clubs still in the European Cup were on a break. Therefore, PSG saw their match against Lens postponed, while Strasbourg, who was supposed to face Brest, also did not play. Behind the Parisian leaders, Lille and Marseille won to reduce the gap to 10 and 11 points respectively. Lens has 6 more points than their neighbor Lille, who is in 3rd place, and with a game in hand. Lille easily defeated Toulouse (0-4) and Marseille dominated Metz (3-1). Lyon remains close behind Marseille, with just one point behind, following their victory over Lorient (2-0).

Monaco suffers a setback

All the big teams playing this weekend won (Marseille, Lyon, Lille, and Rennes) except Monaco, who were defeated by Paris FC (4-1). The team from Monaco is now 7th and their streak of five consecutive victories comes to an end.

Status quo at the bottom of the table

The draw between Auxerre and Nantes (0-0) could have benefited Le Havre or Nice, but both clubs also shared the points in a 1-1 draw. So it is Paris FC who climbs in the standings. The Parisians are now 12th after their impressive victory against Monaco (4-1). The capital club is now ahead of Angers, who lost to Rennes (2-1).
