Dylan is facing a challenge due to an operation on a brain tumor when he was 2 years old. “A nerve was damaged and since then I am disabled on my entire right side: from the arm to the calf,” explains the young man. He had to adapt, especially for serving and moving, but this does not prevent him from participating in numerous valid tournaments. He recently discovered the world of parabad: “There are several categories of parabad according to disabilities, in mine there are about a hundred players worldwide.” Dylan is part of the France Parabad collective.

Numerous projects

This international tournament, which will take place in Prague, requires financial commitment for registration, disability classification, transportation, and accommodation. Therefore, Dylan has set up a fundraiser to help him achieve this project that is close to his heart. “The company I work for also helped me, as well as badminton players, clubs, and people I do not know and whom I thank.”

His projects are numerous: continue to finance specialized training that takes into account his disability and pain, participate in the European parabad championships, and perhaps the world championships.

The young Basile Thibouw, 25 years old and licensed in Luçon (Vendée), will also participate in the Prague tournament. Amputated at the age of 16 following a motorcycle accident, he is equipped with a specific prosthesis that allows him to continue playing badminton. He is currently ranked 36th in the world in the men’s singles category.
