UNPRECEDENTED! – RC Strasbourg delivered a major performance in the Europa Conference League by eliminating FSV Mainz 05 (4-0) to reach the semi-finals of a European competition for the first time in their history.

RC Strasbourg secured a historic qualification for the Europa Conference League semi-finals after a clear victory (4-0) against FSV Mainz 05, overturning their first-leg defeat (2-0). The Alsace club reaches this stage for the first time in a European competition and will face the Spaniards of Rayo Vallecano on April 30th and May 7th.
Boosted by a packed crowd at the Meinau, Strasbourg quickly took control of the match, despite an early German threat (7th minute). Gary O’Neil’s offensive choices, with Julio Enciso, Sebastian Nanasi, and Martial Godo, proved decisive. Nanasi opened the scoring (26th minute), before Abdoul Ouattara equalized over the two legs of the tie (35th minute), benefiting each time from Enciso’s work, ever-present in the offensive actions.

Upon returning from the locker rooms, Strasbourg maintained their pressure. After a missed penalty by Emmanuel Emegha (66th minute), who came on shortly before, Enciso regained the advantage for his side (69th minute), concluding an individual play by Godo. The Paraguayan then shone once again by delivering a decisive pass to Emegha, definitively sealing the fate of the match.
