With the surge in DDR5 prices, consumers are turning to more cost-effective platforms, especially in terms of memory. Indeed, AM4 is experiencing a resurgence in popularity and AMD plans to bring back the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Originally, it was a response from the red team to the launch of Alder Lake, and what a response it was! This processor popularized the 3D V-Cache due to the massive gaming performance gains it brought. If you only plan on gaming, the 5800X3D is the most effective choice on AM4.
In short, after rumors of a return, the packaging has surfaced on X via a known leaker!

To recap, with this processor, AMD offered a model with eight cores and 16 threads based on the Zen 3 architecture. The setup highlighted base frequencies of 3.4 GHz with a turbo of 4.5 GHz. But the standout feature of this model is the 3D V-Cache. It is the very first CPU to feature this type of L3 cache. In total, it carries 96 MB of L3 thanks to the base 32 MB that make up its single CCD, in addition to the 64 MB of 3D V-Cache.
Unfortunately, AMD quickly pulled the processor from sale once the Ryzen 7000 launch was over. But with the rise in DDR5 prices, AMD must react in AM4 and is therefore working to relaunch this CPU through a 10th Anniversary edition to commemorate the AM4 socket, as seen in the image above. In reality, nothing changes except for the presence of a tagline: “10 years AMD AM4 Anniversary Edition.”
A regional or global launch?
But the big question that remains unanswered concerns the geography of this launch. We still do not know if this version will be released globally or if it will only be launched in the most profitable markets such as China or Latin America, for example. It would be a shame if we did not have access to it, especially when considering that the best-selling CPU on Amazon France was the Ryzen 7 5800X.
