The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, participated on Tuesday in the extraordinary session of the Council of the Arab League at the ministerial level, held via video conference and dedicated to illegal Iranian attacks against Arab states.
This meeting is part of a series of regional consultations dedicated to examining the repeated aggressions attributed to Iran against several Arab countries, as well as evaluating their impact on regional stability, peace, and international security. The objective is to formulate a unified Arab stance against these violations in order to put an end to them and counter any threats to the stability of the countries involved.
In this regional and international context, the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, reaffirmed its consistent position condemning any infringement on the sovereignty of Arab states. Morocco also expressed its full solidarity with the countries concerned, supporting the measures they take to defend their sovereignty and ensure the security of their citizens and residents, in accordance with international law.
Furthermore, Morocco welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, as well as the opening of negotiations between the two parties, in the hope of reaching a durable political agreement that can reduce tensions and end threats in the region.
This session was convened at the initiative of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the current chair of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, in a regional context marked by increased vigilance despite ongoing de-escalation efforts.
