Didier Chaumont, a well-known figure in the world of Bourgogne auto racing and the French Mountain Championship, spoke about his unique career. With 38 years of experience, starting in 1989 with a Simca Rallye 2, he later found his passion in hill climbing competitions. His favorite car was the Formule 3 Dallara 393 with a Fiat engine.
Despite racing in Europe and enjoying various courses, Didier prefers the challenges of the French Mountain Championship due to its longer, more interesting races and excellent safety measures. With over 400 races under his belt and more than 100 class victories, Didier’s loyalty to the competition is unwavering.
At the age of 60, Didier continues his racing career with the same passion and enthusiasm. His current vehicle, the Proto Nova, offers 300 horsepower and weighs 550 kilos. Although he now participates in fewer races each season, Didier’s competitive spirit and love for the sport remain strong.
Didier’s dedication to his craft and his club, ASA Morvan, serve as an inspiration for his fellow members. His commitment to excellence and love for auto racing shines through in every competition.
