The defense class was in the front row for the Orion exercise

The students of the defense class at Gaston-Bachelard school in Bar-sur-Aube went to meet the soldiers deployed on the Orion 2026 exercise, alongside their godmother unit, the 61st artillery regiment based in Semoutiers. The students had the chance to witness the installation of a floating bridge to facilitate the passage of numerous armored vehicles engaged in a major exercise of the army, in open terrain and in contact with the population. A great experience with the military delegation from the Haute Marne department and the 7th armored brigade.

Orion is a military exercise in which the French armies face high-intensity combat. It takes place from February 8 to April 30, and, due to its scale, aims to lead to a major commitment, act within a coalition framework, and mobilize the state, allies, and the population in the service of national resilience.
