Two full-size fields and one half-size field are set to be built on the site of Serzian Stadium. The City’s decision to choose this site was influenced by two reasons: the Belfort municipal sports association Football Club (ASMB FC) currently plays at the Serzian Stadium, and Belfort owns the land. In a new development, these three fields will be made with synthetic turf. “It is much more usable than a grass field, up to four times more,” explains Damien Meslot. Regarding the issue of seating, the City of Belfort has considered adding 150 seats. The same goes for parking: an additional 150 spaces are planned.
This will all be complemented by eight changing rooms, each with its own sanitary facilities. A club-house will also be established. “Furthermore, a pumptrack area of 875 square meters, a hilly course for non-motorized two-wheelers, is highly anticipated,” Meslot added. All the facilities will benefit from 100% LED lighting.
Originally designated for housing construction, the land had to undergo modifications to the Local Urban Plan (PLU) by the City. To avoid disturbing the peace of the neighborhood, a wall ranging from 2 to 3.50 meters in height will be built. It will be complemented by a 2-meter hedge.
