On Friday, Yorick Treille, the coach of the French men’s ice hockey team, unveiled the list of 23 players who will represent France at the Division 1A World Championship in Sosnowiec, Poland (May 2-8). The French team will face Japan in their first match on Saturday at 12:30. The French men’s ice hockey team is set to play a crucial role in the Division 1A World Championship, aiming to return to the elite level of world ice hockey with a strong performance in Poland.

Prepared for this challenge, the French players showed promise in friendly matches against Italy, winning both encounters (5-2 and 4-2), despite a narrow defeat to Poland in a shootout (3-2). Unfortunately, players like Texier and Addamo will miss the tournament due to their playoff commitments in the NHL and Finland respectively.

Coach Yorick Treille carefully selected the final squad of 23 players from a group of 25 who participated in the preparation camp. Leaving out players like Coulaud, Mony, and Leborgne, Treille emphasized the discipline and defensive structure necessary for success. The French team’s aim is clear – to regain their elite status, starting with the match against Japan on Saturday at 12:30.

The selected squad of 23 players includes goalkeepers Keller, Neckar, and Papillon, defensemen like Boscq, Cantagallo, and Guebey, and forwards such as Boudon, Bougro, and Bozon, among others. The French team’s young and ambitious group is focused on reclaiming their elite status in the world of ice hockey.
